My first performance.

April 12th 2003

Went shopping yesterday for camping equipment. Wal-mart has an okay selection I guess, the necessities for a nice price but I’m picky. So I’ll have to go to an actual outdoor store sometime soon.

I went to the coffee house last night. I needed the distraction from life I suppose. Sati convinced me to bring my guitar along since they weren’t having any entertainment scheduled, and low and behold I performed, and I performed well. It wasn’t anything organized or anything, I just sat down in front of my seven grain sandwhich and cookies and cream ice thingy and played guitar for my friends and patrons of the coffee house. It was quite amazing for me actually. I surprised even myself at how much lack of nervousness there really was. I didn’t care, all I wanted to do was play music and enjoy myself. Needless to say I feel really good about myself right now. Hearing strangers clap and ask for more, I’ve discovered, is something I crave.

A bunch of the girls and myself got together over coffee and gossiped about all sorts of things. It’s amazing the stories I heard about people I knew, some who used to frequent the coffee house, some who still do. I am………………very shocked.

I got home at about 2am to a gift on my desk in front of my monitor. A beautiful glistening crystal rose with cerulean crystal petals. A gift from my sister apparently, for my birthday. A very nice ending to the evening.
