Social Security sucks ass
Gah! It was too good to be true!
Lets study our government for a moment:
My father quits his job last summer, due to his doctors recommendation. “You either quit, or you keep working and lose your leg.” I had JUST gotten my measly $8.00 an hour job and he and I were both living off of nothing but that. Hardships, yes. I worked my -ass- off.
We wait the 6 months for disability to take affect, and during that time, he gets paid $100 a month. Like anyone can live off of that these days. Social Security is supplying him with health insurance because he cannot afford his own.
February, he gets his first disability check for around $1500. So we’re going to get about $1500 a month. He just finds out TODAY that they’ve cancelled his health insurance because now he makes too much money. And what’s the kicker? They say they’ll ‘consider’ letting him back on it after he spends at least $6000 on medical visits, etc.
And my dad seriously needs his health insurance with all the problems popping up lately.
So what the fuck is with this god damn system?

Unfortunately it isn’t anything new, hon. The things put in place to help the people who need them rarely come through, and those who dont really need them get the most assistance.. Its like welfare. There is a certain dollar amount that you have to make under in order to receive it…if you make one cent over that amount, you don’t qualify. Its ridiculous, unfortunately.
Hope you guys find a solution

I know what ya mean Crys, belive me. My Dad has been screwed around by the VFW for over a year now. His clinic worker quit, and they still have yet to asign him to a new one, which means he hasn’t had a visit to the doctor in over a year, where he was getting one every three months.
Wish we could get people that worked for the government and cared for the people instead of filling their pockets with our hard earned cash.

It never seems that the systems out to help people ever actual do what they were instituted for.
I hope it all works out for the best.
