Bardic Guild/Found Dog/Orcas
Went to my friend Jake’s surprise 25th Birthday party on Sunday. We had a lot of fun, I did a lot of karaoke (had many requests too) and they all smoked a hooka/nargeila(sp) most of the night. I love the smell of a hooka, especially the Jasmine and Apricot tobacco that they smoke. I took a lot of pictures too so hopefully I can get those scanned, but they were on a crappy camera so don’t expect much.
I’ve taken it upon myself to organized a Bardic Guild for a Druids Grove. Basically a group of people who have the ability to play together, know the high rite chants and pagan music for our rituals and gatherings, etc. I also hope to incorporate some storytellers as well. No one does good old fashioned storytelling anymore, it’s rather sad. We met last night down in Baltimore for the first time, at Chi Chi’s, and they had the most god awful food. Never go there.
My boss is really starting to get on my nerves. His morals and this whole ‘cheapass’ way about him. I can’t do anything about it, obviously, I need to keep my job, but he really is an ass. We have a pet crematory that comes every so often to pick up our dead animals. A lot of clients want the ashes for their animal back so they sit and wait. Well, he won’t send out any dead bodies until the freezer is filled to the brim in order to save money. We also had a neuter come in yesterday, and all she wanted was the neuter, no laser, no fluoride treatment, JUST the neuter. And he actually got mad at us because we couldn’t talk her into more shit. I was like jeeeeeeeeeeeeesus. From what I heard, he spent several SEVERAL thousands of dollars recently on his nieces barmitsva(sp).
I hate people like that….
I found a dog on Monday. I was going to Little Georges to get a drink and sandwich for lunch and this cute little corgi looking dog was running around, following people walking by. I felt bad for him so I also bought him a turkey sandwich. I asked the clerk at Little Georges how long the dog had been running around and she said that he had been running around off and on for over a year, and that the owners just don’t seem to care. And this is right in front of a high traffic intersection. I debated on what I should do. I mean, I could be like everyone else and just ignore the dog, not caring what happens to it, but that just isn’t me. SOMEONE has to take the initiative.
So I decided to take the dog with me to work, even though it made me half an hour late. I named him George and spent most of the day trying to figure out what I was going to do with him. I couldn’t take him home with me, I already have one rescue dog found on the streets and it’s really too much for me right now to take on another. Although one day I hope to own enough property that this wouldn’t be a problem ![]()
I got really depressed when the techs at work told me that Dr. Slovon wouldn’t want to have anything to do with the dog. I was hopeful that at least someone would actually -care- about the dog. So I decided to take him to the local humane society. They were very nice about it, and he really is a sweetheart so I don’t think they’ll have any trouble finding him a good home.
I was actually pleasantly surprised when I dropped him off. I hadn’t been to the humane society in years but they -really- have a wonderful place there. It’s back off the road a ways, surrounded by farmland and trees. They have this large pond with a island in the middle that I’m sure they take the dogs for walks around and to play. It just felt really peaceful. And even though I was sad that I had to drop the dog off and almost teared up about it, I honestly think it’s what was best for him.
Now I’m actually thinking about volunteering there a few nights a week.
You know what my ideal job would be? To work at a zoo. I want to work at a zoo with different types of animals, caring for them, playing with them. Especially like…..water animals. Orca whales most especially. I could sit and listen to whales singing for hours. It’s almost like I can imagine being underswater.
This was really random.

Your boss is grating on my nerves, and I don’t even have to work with him…
