Digital Camera
I’ve decided to do some research on what type of Digital Camera I want. I’d like to have one that has the large picture viewer thing (I don’t know what they are called), and I’d like one that can be used in any lighting circumstance, whether it’s in the sun, nighttime, cloudy day, yet still takes crisp, clear pictures. I’d prefer a price range of $300 and to be honest, I like the name of the “Digital Elph” but I’ll settle for anything that is good. I want one that will let me take a lot of pictures without having to go unload them all after a short period of time, but quality of picture in all situations is the most important.
I know several of you are all into photography and what not, so any input is really appreciated.

hey if you find this camera, let me know! i have an old nikon i really love, but it’s a pain in the butt to have to take the pictures to be developed then scan them in.. i’m in the market to jump into the digital age as well i guess you could say.

Two tips. 1) If you must have a large LCD screen (viewer) then be prepared to have the camera run out of batteries frequently. You’d probably want to get one with a rechargable battery, as buying that many non-rechargable batteries can get expensive and wasteful. 2) I’d recommend a camera with a flash card. If the one that comes with it doesn’t hold enough pictures, you can always get a flash card that holds more (and the bigger ones will hold TONS).

Both are very good ideas. I’m still waiting for Stacey and Sumida to give me some feedback on camera brands!

Teehee.
Actually, Crys, I know little of it even if you saw some pics are quite good. I just borrow a digicam and take a pic.
Sometimes it is not the digital camera that makes the picture great but the art of the person taking the picture.
Though of course we can’t say it always like that right?
Here are the tips I know about digicams:
- Look for one that reduces “red eye” It is the type when you take pictures of people you get this red eye on them because of the light.
- Digicam with internal memory and flash cards (memory on a stick) are great Just in case you get too hyper active clicking that button.
- Try checking out a Digital Videocam that can be used as a still cam. This is really helpful. For those moments you wish to video things. Digicams can also take video clips but small ones.
- Know the difference of Optical Focus and Digital Focus.

Aww Crys! I remember I told you once about digital cameras, right? Hehe. I haven’t been in digital camera scene in a long long time. But what I’d like to recommend is yes Digital Elph is good too. I saw several photo logs use it and yes, it’s pretty cheap. But what I REALLY love is Sony. It’s so easy to use and colors and everything about Sony are great. I’m looking forward to buy Sony DSC-F717 when the price is (much) lower than this! Hehe.
Nikon is good, too. But I’m not into it much. Probably, not that easy to use?
Sony DSC-S85 is good. Not sure what the price is right now. They’re no longer make them, but if you look carefully you might be able to find them and probably in the price you’re looking for. I LOVE this model!
I’d also like to recommend buying any digital cameras that have 3 or 3.5 up pixels. I’m a little crazy about the quality of pictures. No matter how much you’re good at photography, quality of pictures are so important as well.
Finepix models are also interested. You might want to check them out.
Canon PowerShot G5 is a GREAT camera. But hella expensive.
(Do check out Canon!)
Not that specific answer but I’d like you to see a lot of cameras and probably read what you like. Feel free to tell us what model you end up with or ask for comments. k?
