Grr to the government

August 21st 2003

Just found this out…….the Maryland government is trying to remove the Groves tax exemption status.

If anyone is interested in helping to stop this, I can e-mail you a copy of an affadavit to sign and mail to me. This is the -only- pagan church in Maryland, and I don’t want it to close down.

I’d be more than willing to sign… but wouldn’t one have to be a Maryland resident? If not, send it my way

I can’t believe the government would do such a thing! A good portion of Pagan Religions are viewed as legal by the Fed. Government. I don’t think they can legally do that.

Is there any Churches of the Rising Sun in/near Maryland? Maybe you could see if any of those members would want to sign it!

Wow, and government isnt supposed to do that. It’s not legal to take down a church!!

I’m in the same boat as Melissa - if I don’t have to be a Maryland resident, I’d be happy to sign.

actually, wicca is the only pagan religion recognized by the US government. We’re talking about changing that too (I’m a member of CLG) Out of state things should be fine. The afadavit for non members says ‘if i was in the area i’d go” type things

I feel like hammered shit. I felt perfectly fine yesterday until afternoon when I decided to drive down the Grove for the Imbolc ritual. Once I got there, it just went down hill. So I left early, turned the heat all the way up in my mustang, and my bones -still- felt […]
