Nervous about training
February 20th 2004
Thanks to Abby, and one SIMPLE little change, the ask section is up and working. Soon to be followed by the guestbook, which I am fixing now. Hopefully I can get flinx to work too….
So feel free to ask me anything.
I’ve realized I am extremely nervous about my training this weekend. And it’s not an anxious nervous, more like an embarassing nervous. I’m afraid that I’m going to be a complete fuck-up. Though I worked there before so I should know how the system works. But trying to remember what certain medications do, being able to deal with feral animals, etc, is just something I hope I can handle.
I’ll have to remind the Office Manager that if a receptionist position comes up that I’d take it. They still want me as a back-up tech though, which is fine.
Just give me the strength to do well.

Training Starts
February 18th 2004
I start my tech training this Saturday and Sunday from 5pm-10pm. Still no idea what my regular hours will be. Really nervous, but I guess happy at the same time.

Sasha
February 17th 2004
I take that back, Sasha does comment once in a while, and I adore her anyway.
Sat here and tried to record some more music, and I am having absolutely no luck. At least with editing with the program. Anyone familiar with Acid Pro? It’s currently kicking my ass. I’m trying to add FX to the tracks.

Feeling very blah
February 16th 2004
Spent a good chunk of today making some Fanlistings because the Senior Staff wants me to get some of the ones I have on upcoming done. I’ve been really slacking in that department. It’s like every time I go to make one, I get involved in something else. I feel bad about it, but eh, shit happens. Hopefully they don’t think bad of me for my slack, but I probably deserve it even if they did.
In fact I don’t think anyone from TFL ever goes to my site, they certainly don’t comment. I get linked every once in a while because I’m on staff there. Guess I’m kind of out of that circle of friends. Maybe that’s for the best, there are few people I can hold a conversation with. Heck some of my own hostees are hard to hold a conversation with ![]()
Oh well.
Still no word on when I start my training. Should hear something sometime this week though. I’m hoping they’ll let me have internet access there to do their website. And so I can still take care of a few things online while waiting for emergencies to call in.
Had my cousin Steph over for the weekend. We mostly just hung out and watched TV since she doesn’t get cable at home. It was good to spend time with her after hearing about her moving soon.
Even with the good news of getting a job (even if I don’t have it yet), I’m still being bombarded with a lot of crap lately. Probably why I make myself so busy, so I don’t have to think about it.
Blah I don’t even feel like writing this entry, I’m going to go play guitar.

Valentines and Sleeping Habits
February 15th 2004
I think the most annoying thing about Valentines Day, is that people get annoyed with it (contradiction..?). Granted I agree it’s just another commercialized holiday, and that if you’re going to do something special with/for someone, it should be all the time, not just one day a year. But I don’t really understand why people get so depressed around Valentines Day. Christmas/Yule I can understand, because that’s supposed to be more of a family thing, but I don’t really get Valentines. It might be because I consider all of my friends my Valentines, and spent it with them. I guess people just get lonely. So go out and have fun ![]()
Watched Braveheart last night. Man….., if I ever do get signed, I am definitely having a house in Scotland.
My friend Borlak and I were talking about sleeping patterns today. Apparently I listen when I sleep. Like every morning when my dad lets my dog loose, and then he leaves to go to this country restaurant to hang out with some old farmers, I listen, even while sleeping, to make sure my dog isn’t getting into anything. If I hear his toenails on the kitchen floor, I know he might get into some food, so I get up. If I don’t hear him barking for a length of time, I get paranoid he might have gotten out, so I get up. And this morning, I heard a loud thump outside, and since it’s icey, I thought my dad might have fallen, so I got up.
It’s probably nice to be able to do that for safety reasons, but it really fucks up my sleeping.
Also, and apparently a lot of people do this, if I’m really excited or anxious about getting up at a certain time the next day, like a job interview or something, my body will actually wake itself up without an alarm clock. Or if I do set the alarm, it’ll wake up just before it goes off. Again useful, but annoying, because I’m one of those people that likes the sacred extra minute or two of sleeping.

Friday Five
February 13th 2004
The Friday Five
1. Are you superstitious?
Hrm, I guess in some ways I am.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
When people freak out if they lost their lucky item.
3. Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition?
I’m big into the ghost stories, if they’re considered superstitions. I love reading horror/ghost stories that ‘apparently’ happened.
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Oh yeah, I believe in luck, cause I have NONE OF IT. Don’t have any lucky items though, obviously ![]()
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
To a point yeah, but I think some of the new age people go extremely far with it. But what do I know. I suppose if I read up on it more….
