Green Streaks
Ever since I started being a receptionist and working on a regular schedule, adjusting to the ropes and all, I’m starting to feel like I never actually left for a year. It’s almost as if that year was just this dark void in my life that doesn’t exist. It’s quite nice actually.
I’m not too happy about the lack of time I’ve been putting into some of my other projects though. But I’m sure that’s something I’ll just adjust to.
I need some advice on something. I’ve decided to do something a bit different with my hair. Though I like the blonde, I’ve been wanting to do a large green streak in the front for a long time. I’ve also been considering doing just the tips in green. Like turf green, really deep green. Though I’m getting all sorts of opinions on it. Some are saying to keep the blonde and do a green streak on each side, I originally was just going to do one green streak with the blonde, and others are saying to dye it a light brown first and then do the green streaks or tips because it’ll be too much of a shock with the blonde.
I’m really not that concerned about shock value, I mean we’re talking green here…
Tips I can cut off anytime, the green streak would have to be stripped out when I got tired of it.
So any opinions are well appreciated.

I think tips always look cool and there’s more you can do with them…when I did mine, I did them three different ways. The first was just straight around the bottom inch of my hair, the second was in a wave, and the last was a zigzag. I liked the zigzag (it happened with the wave, too) the best but it was kind of crap when I wanted to cut my hair because I didn’t want to lose as much hair as I did. Since it was uneven I had to lose more off the ends. But! That might not be a concern.

What if you try something temporary like Manic Panic dye, first? That would give you a chance to see if you like it. Are you natural blonde, or is it bleached? (I ask because temporary dies can be more permanent with bleached hair). When I was a teenager, I had a green streak for a while (also did purple and blue, but liked the green best), and I did it with tempoary dye.

Personally I think tips are easier to work with.. they can be presented differently depending on how you wear your hair.. while a streak is always just right there. And of course, they’re a lot easier to remove once you don’t want them any more.

Tips would be neat. Just be sure they’re okay with it at work (some employers are weird about stuff like that).
