Debt of War

August 26th 2004

This article on yahoo is about a new billboard they’ve displayed in New York about the cost of the current war on Iraq. Meant to display just as the Republicans were to gather in New York for their annual meeting.

Apparently the cost of the War on Iraq is as follows:

$177 million a day
$7.4 million an hour
$122,820 per minute

Quite interesting if you ask me. Makes me wonder why some people are still so adamant about voting for Bush. Please explain to me….why?

Can’t really say why, I’ve often asked the same question myself. Maybe it is too hard to admit that the USA ( in the eyes of many one of the greatest countries in the world) has made such a tremendous international & financial blunder. I also think a lot of it has to do with Bushes expert patriotic rhetoric…he has convinced many Americans that if they don’t support the war then they are unpatriotic and on “the other side.”

    1) because the sirens of the religious right say so.

    2) because (insert name of conservative pundit here) says so.

    3) because faux news implies so.

i don’t get it either. *sigh*

Cities

Had a great time with the Goils this weekend. Ended up driving through the Inner Harbor on the way to the Grove (which btw, has a forum now).
I’m constantly amazed when driving through cities. Today for instance, from what I could tell we drove through some very very crappy sections of Baltimore. […]
