Steering Wheel and Taco Tantrums

September 21st 2004

Yesterday was so busy at work, that none of my “usual” duties got done because I was busy answering phones and dealing with customers all damn day. Hopefully today isn’t as busy. Even through all of that though, I love the job.

Ride on the way to work was interesting. My steering wheel decided to fall off. More like, dangle down. Do you know how hard it is to hold up a steering wheel while trying to drive and make turns? I -do-. I made Ex#1 come over with the steering wheel to my other truck, and my dad should install it for me today.

Ex#1 offered to buy us all dinner, so I said sure, so we he went to taco bell. He comes back and starts going through his order, and the next thing I know he bolts out the door in a tantrum and drives off like a maniac back to taco bell. Apparently they got his order wrong. So after another half hour or so, he comes back, and sits down to eat his new tacos. Apparently they forgot to remove the lettuce…….

Now I can understand getting a little upset if it’s the wrong order entirely, or they put something on it that is really nasty or you’re allergic to. But god damn, just pick off the lettuce.

Can’t say I know how hard it is to drive with a dangling steering wheel. But I do know the excitement of going to press your brakes on your full sized 89 Bronco as your going down a hill in Ottawa rush hower traffic, only to find the brake pedel hitting the floor.

Nearly earned a Honda Civic as a hood orniment on the nice plow hitch. Thankfully I regained braking power before it came to that. Rotor was more chewed up on one side and it tore the worn brake pad out, leaving me momentarily without breaks till I pumped up pressure again and ended up using the piston as the new brake :P Mind you least I still had a steering wheel to steer with hee hee *huggles*
