Beautiful Day

April 1st 2005

Just got back from another hike, one with all sorts of goodies, not all of which I was able to get a picture of though.

On the way over I ran into three vultures that I would assume were hovering over something dead close by. They took an interest in me for a few moments, but I don’t think I smelled as tasty as whatever was lying over in the woods. I ran into several tracks of deer throughout the woods. And found an interesting tree covered in vines.

My best find however, was being able to watch three red-tailed hawks dancing with each other over one of the fields. This is where I decided to rest and have my picnic and enjoy my book, considering the hawk has been a totem of mine for many years. Just the sound they make is truly amazing. I just wish I was able to get a better picture.

On the way back home I ran into a piece of bone, and eventually surprised three doe coming out of a thicket of one of their runs, but was unable to whip out my camera fast enough before they were out of sight.

Such a beautiful spring day.

He’s still going to finish out the hyperbaric treatments, and he’s still at risk for an ulcer coming back, but for now it’s […]
