Dad Health Update

August 23rd 2005

Just got off the phone with my dad, he did a lot of running around today to the doctors and getting blood work and what not, so he wasn’t able to talk to my uncle about co-signing. But he said tomorrow.

He got a new doctor today, one that he seems to actually like, which is good, because he’s fickle about doctors. She says they’ve opened up a wound treatment center in Westminster, so he doesn’t have to drive down to Johns Hopkins anymore, which is good. She said she wants him to come in every 3 to 4 months for a general check up and to keep an eye on his leg. Apparently his previous doctor should have recommended that too, but never did, great. So we’re going to be setting up appointments for that to keep his leg in tact.

He also apparently has a cataract in his left eye, so we’ll need to set up some laser surgery to get that taken care of too. Which these days isn’t that bad I don’t think.

It’s a little relieving to have him in professional hands, as long as I keep on him to make appointments. Then again, it was professional hands that got him into this predicament in the first place.
