Chickens
When I eat breakfast outside under the trees, I don’t normally have to chase chickens. But this morning we had one out. Of course opening the chicken pen in order to chase the one chicken back in, allows more to escape. I had a heck of a time, but I finally got them all back in. Damn…plotting…chickens.
We have another turtle in our turtle habitat, this making the 4th. I haven’t been able to give him a good look over yet, but he looks like a healthy little thing. I’m hoping that at some point we’ll get some turtle babies.
I saved my bosses ass yesterday at work, which amuses me. Normal working hours across the nation are 7am-7pm, but our regional boss for the Baltimore/DC region is saying now some of the outside sales guys and my boss have to stay 6-8pm every Tuesday for what is considered a “call session” where they make outbound calls. My boss pretty much just said “fuck that” because she wasn’t making anyone stay past company hours. Well last night just as I was about to leave at 6:15pm, the regional boss strolls in. He never comes to our branch because we’re out in the sticks, but I guess he decided to make a surprise visit. Luckily my boss left maybe 20 minutes before so I snagged the nextel and went outside and told her to come back. So she made up the excuse that she had to get home to get her insulin since she’s diabetic and she’d be right back. So everything turned out fine. She called me on my cell later to thank me for the quick thinking on my part and saving her ass. Amusing.
My boss had these two doves that would perch outside her office window that she would talk to every morning. But we found one of them dead next to her window yesterday. So my co-worker Bruce, being the nut that he is, got out one of our auger drills and made a grave for it and then sang to it. Sad about the bird, but I cracked up about Bruce. He’s so adorable.
Bought my dad a new cellphone with a nice hank williams ringtone to complete his little package. I think I’ll surprise him and call him later so he can hear it.
Been offered a balance extension on my credit card for being such a good customer. I think I’m going to decline it though and maybe ask for a lower APR instead. Suggested by my good friend Deirdre. It’s good to know that my credit is doing so well though. Even if I still can’t buy a car from the same people who are extending my credit. Makes a lot of damn sense.
