Dads Kidneys

November 30th 2005

My doctor told my dad today that the diabetes medicine he’s been taking is ruining his kidneys. So he’s to stop taking it immediately and they will be prescribing him something different. Nice of us to find this out now. I figure I better start preparing myself financially if it comes to him getting into some serious trouble with his kidneys and those additional medical bills. And then take the time to decide if it comes to that, whether I want to donate one of my kidneys to him.

This is all probably premature, but if I’m not prepared for even the worst circumstances, then it’s just going to bite me in the ass later. I’m extremely hopeful that things will turn out for the better and none of this becomes an issue.

I’ve been thinking about getting a second job. Whether it’s doing web design related stuff, maybe helping out my uncle with his taxidermy stuff. I know he’s pretty behind on mounting heads, and I’d like to learn the trade anyway. And I will probably work at the christmas tree farm like I did two years ago for some extra under-the-table cash. I’m also trying to sell some things on ebay, jewelry and such (will post links later).

My boss is trying to help me set up my new 401k so I can transfer the one from the Vet over and start working on that.

Oh, Rudolph is on CBS. My dads favorite.

Taxidermy eh? I’ve always wanted to know more about that too, if you take it up, post pictures! :)

Best of luck with your dad. I asked m2webstudios.com about job openings just in case you went to designing.
