Flour and MUD
November 22nd 2005
My dad is so adorable.
He loves to bake up a storm during the holidays. Cookies, pies, cakes. He spent the majority of yesterday baking me pumpkin pies (yes plural). 3 to be exact. What the hell I’m going to do with 3 pies, I don’t know. But every year he also makes a disaster out of the kitchen, which I discovered yesterday as I was sliding on flour on the wooden floor. Apparently he had dropped eggs (which were cleaned up), there was flower and sugar all over the counter, a few things that had fallen off the table onto the floor, burnt drippings on the bottom of the oven. I can’t help but laugh. I don’t even bother going into the kitchen if I can help it during the holidays because he’s always making some sort of mess in there. But he enjoys it.
Christmas/Holiday Cards!: If you want one, email me with your address. Also let me know if you’d like mine to send one in return.
Had a decent weekend. Got a lot accomplished, which is a change, since my weekends have been somewhat lazy. Submitted the Groves quarterly report, held an online witan meeting (anyone know of a good online chat script?), started preparing stuff for elections next month, and have almost finished my Centaur village on my MUD.
I’m really proud of my staff on my MUD. They really do dedicate themselves to it, and work really hard. I don’t think I could ask for a better bunch of people to share building this game with. And when it opens into beta next year, I wouldn’t want a better bunch of people to run it with me. I really think this RPG could go somewhere.

More Ulcer Stuff
November 19th 2005
So dad had a doctors visit today. They are sending him home with supplies for daily home bandage changes. Easy enough. I’ve wrapped enough dog bandages to in my time working at the Vet.
The big ulcer on the front is gone, and the 10 little ulcers all around the leg are gone. But there are still two very big ulcers on the side that we are trying to get rid of. They gave me cleansing solution, some antimicrobial bandages, and gauze to wrap it in. I don’t think the antimicrobial bandage is really enough though…so maybe I can come up with something to do in addition when I’m cleaning the ulcers every day.
He’s kind of in a rock and hard place right now because he needs to exercise for his diabetes, but the doctors keep telling him to keep his leg up and rest all day. So I guess I’m going to have to get him to do more upper body exericise, somehow.
Maybe doing the bandages changes from home will help save some money too. Since really this is all they are doing at the doctors office. I need to get me some self-adhesive wrap like we used at the vet though, this cloth shit they give me is no good.
I’ll try to take some up to date pictures tomorrow. Wish I had my good camera though

Doctors *mutter*
November 18th 2005
These doctors at the wound care center in Carroll County are starting to piss me off. When we went to the Johns Hopkins Wound Care center, they healed the ulcers no problem. I don’t know what the deal is with Carroll County. I’m paying all this money, and now they are saying the ulcers are getting worse.
I may as well fork out the extra money to have him go down to Johns Hopkins instead. Soon as I can get a new exhaust on his car and make sure the tags aren’t expired anyway.
If I could have just one thing every again in my life, it would be just fix my dads leg.

*yawn* Productive Musings
November 18th 2005
My new yak bone ohm necklace came yesterday, so I wore it to work. I don’t know what it is about bone jewelry. I used to get claws and things from dealers that would only take from roadkill and make jewelry out of it all the time.
CSI made me cry last night. Was a really good two-part episode. It’s really the only TV I watch, there’s just really not much use for TV anymore, especially with the internet.
Handling the office by myself today, it’s so quiet here so I’ve taken the time to clean out some files on the domain of past hostees, work on Grove documents and prepare for elections next month. Also been working on my MUD. Worked on some of the Gods logos last night: Varick, God of Justice and Retribution, Siramus, God of Power and Ambition, Cedric, God of War and Anger. Going to play with Cedric’s more, his symbol is an ouroboros dragon, and it’s not easy find a good image of an ouroboros anymore.
Looking forward to a 2 day weekend, but debating going to the Grove this weekend. Need to save money and get stuff ready for Thanksgiving. These past two years it’s just been me and my father, but my cousin Bryan and his fiance are thinking about coming down. It’d be nice to have some company.

Blood and Fire
November 17th 2005
So I decided to cut open my leg last night. Well…involuntarily. I now have a big gaping hole about a quarter in diameter in my leg, which makes it difficult to sit. Not to mention when it was healing yesterday, my clothes kept sticking to it, and I’d have to peel them off.
My boss has also been having a house built for her and her fiance. It’s a big huge thing, and was about 4 weeks from completion. Then it burnt down to the foundation last night. One of the propane tanks they keep inside for the drywall decided to blow up.
At least she’s optimistic about it. With moving the office, planning her January wedding, selling her fiance’s house, and trying to put her own house on the market, it’s nice to not have to worry about one other thing right now. I don’t know how she does it.
I hope I can build a house one day.

Dream: Musician
November 17th 2005
Another dream (or two).
Another girl and myself were being “interviewed” by a record label. The guy from the interview was very nice, and extremely impressed with our music. Apparently I played piano.. anyway. I only did half of a song before he decided to sign me and the other girl right on the spot. But afterwards he kept going on about the different things we’d have to change, our names for instance….he wanted to change mine to Sally Pethro? What the fuck? We’d have to change our hair, the way we dressed. I said fuck that, I just want to play music. So I guess I didn’t get signed
Another dream after that consisted of me and my sister just driving around on a lazy Sunday, and running across a house that used to belong to a friend of mine. They trashed the house, it was completely filthy. And I guess had moved out at some time, and the new owners have been fixing it up. So I stopped and introduced myself, complimented them on the wonderful work they’ve done to the house. No more smell, no more filth, but still a lot of work to do. I told them where I worked, because their house was covered with a termite agreement, and I offered to do an inspection for them while I was there. And low and behold I find millions and millions of termites. The poor lady was so upset after all the work she had done to the house. I told her not to worry about it, that I’d go to the office to set her up with an appointment right away.
Then my truck wouldn’t start.
I get enough of work at work, I don’t know why I gotta dream about it.
