For Fucks Sake

January 30th 2006

So to add to my fucked up day, we found out today that my father was dropped from his health insurance without anyone telling him. He still has medicare, but the Maryland Health Insurance dropped him, and we have no clue why. We didn’t even know till he went and filled a $180 prescription, which we had to pay for completely out of pocket.

And he’s been paying for this non-existant health insurance for a while now.

He tried to talk to someone about it today, and they mentioned something about not being allowed on Medicare and Maryland Health Insurance at the same time. 1. Why the fuck have we been paying for it then. 2. Why did they not send us a letter stating we were being dropped. And 3. When my father asked if he should pay the February invoice he was sent, why the fuck did you tell him today to go ahead and pay it if HE DOESN’T HAVE THE INSURANCE.

I could slaughter someone.

A Day of Chamomile, Legacy, and the Grove

January 29th 2006

Chamomile and Lemon TeaI woke up early to shower and collect some things to take to the Grove today. On a whim I decided to brew some chamomile and lemon rinse for my hair, to give it some highlights with the sun. Perhaps as a small honor of Imbolc, perhaps just because I felt like it.

My dad left me a little note saying he would bring me and my sister some breakfast from Baughers. Actually the head of the Baugher family died this week, Mrs. Baugher at 90 some years old. My dad and I have been friends of the Baugher family for a while, in fact when their son Nathan got married, they used my F-150 in one of their wedding photos by putting all the groomsmen in the bed of the truck.

I remember when they were going to build that new shopping mall a few years ago with the Safeway and Blockbuster right next door to the Baugher Country Restaurant, Mrs. Baugher tried to buy up all the land to prevent them from having the parking-lot spill out in front of the restaurant. She wasn’t able to unfortunately, but I admired her for her efforts. She was definitely a local legacy out here in the country.

I suppose with my sister being “all grown up” now, I should pick up where I left off in her rite of passage ceremony. I’m not exactly sure when the time will be right to do this, I suppose she will show me later on down the road.

Sisters

January 28th 2006

At 12 years old, I was racing go-karts, 4-wheelers, and my snowmobile. I was gone from dawn till dusk out in the woods by the dam, building forts, collecting rocks and feathers, catching animals and bringing them home. I was taking care of my sick grandmother a few times a week, helping feed and water the animals, being chased by wild dogs, and grumpy bulls, shooting BB guns and bows and arrows. I wore a lot of torn jeans, bare feet and mud.

At 12 years old, my sister now has her own cellphone, a french manicure, setting up her voicemail as “Yo, this is so and so..” and chasing after boys. She talks on the phone from dawn till dusk, collects bratz dolls and plays video games. She wears a lot of pink and adidas.

Sometimes it’s weird to think we’re sisters. Perhaps I need to get her out more. I really don’t want her to end up being all materialistic. And that appears to be what is happening.

Blind Corruption

January 28th 2006

People are blind.

I have to sit and wonder if Pat Robertson just does it for the money. People gasp and awe at Marilyn Manson, but lets face it, he’s rich, you’re not. Why? Because he’s fucking insane, and quite brilliant. The shock factor is what makes the money. I can’t help but wonder if Martha Stewart is actually making -more- money now that she’s a Prison House Wife than before.

It’s just the constant flow of “oops” bullshit that comes from Path Robertsons mouth that makes me wonder what the fuck he’s really thinking. Is he really so rabid about the things he talks about, or does he do it just for the money? Isn’t that kinda……corrupt?

And why do people still follow this honkey?

Also, the majority of the blogs and websites and commercials that I see that talk about Bush, talk about him in a negative light. He’s breaking the law, he’s an asshole, he’s a terrorist, he’s ruining America, etc. But why does it seem like….nothing is being done about it? Are we outnumbered? Is it just in limbo? Are people too lazy to get up and do something?

I don’t know..I’m not a very political savvy person. But I will reiterate…people are blind.

Leaving Work

Well today wasn’t a bad day at work, I enjoyed it for the most part. Well, besides finding out another co-worker has been lying to everyone. I actually found out who originally found my website too, and was quite surprised when I found out all the printed copies they were showing around, and […]
