Old Home Videos
My father went to a family christmas party last night, and one of our relatives gave him a VHS tape that contained a few of the old home videos from when my dad was young. Relatively around 1954-1959.
A lot of it was taken on Reisberg Lane in Marriotesville, which was named after my grandmothers family, the Reisbergs. At one time it was nothing but Reisbergs living on it. It’s weird seeing the old farm, back before I was even born. But that place was the staple point for our entire family, not just my immediate family.
My father was so cute when he was 4 years old, and ornery as ever I imagine. Seeing my grandmother so young, and the old farmhouse that burnt down when I was 2, it kinda touches something inside you. I very much try to cling onto my childhood memories, because they were some of the best years of my life.
I’ll most likely try to get the VHS on DVD and then copy it onto my computer so I have a backup. I still have a lot of old photos to scan, but have been slowly working on them over the past few weeks. I think it’d be nice to have an album available for family.
