A Day of Chamomile, Legacy, and the Grove
I woke up early to shower and collect some things to take to the Grove today. On a whim I decided to brew some chamomile and lemon rinse for my hair, to give it some highlights with the sun. Perhaps as a small honor of Imbolc, perhaps just because I felt like it.
My dad left me a little note saying he would bring me and my sister some breakfast from Baughers. Actually the head of the Baugher family died this week, Mrs. Baugher at 90 some years old. My dad and I have been friends of the Baugher family for a while, in fact when their son Nathan got married, they used my F-150 in one of their wedding photos by putting all the groomsmen in the bed of the truck.
I remember when they were going to build that new shopping mall a few years ago with the Safeway and Blockbuster right next door to the Baugher Country Restaurant, Mrs. Baugher tried to buy up all the land to prevent them from having the parking-lot spill out in front of the restaurant. She wasn’t able to unfortunately, but I admired her for her efforts. She was definitely a local legacy out here in the country.
I suppose with my sister being “all grown up” now, I should pick up where I left off in her rite of passage ceremony. I’m not exactly sure when the time will be right to do this, I suppose she will show me later on down the road.
