Rachel Brice Desktops
June 20th 2006
I made some fairly simple Rachel Brice desktops today. She’s just such a beautiful dancer and I admire her. All are in 1024×768 format, so if you need a different one, just let me know.

Where’s George?
June 18th 2006
I came across a dollar bill today with the URL to wheresgeorge.com on it. Being a curious sort, I decided to check it out. Apparently some people are tracking where their paper money goes, and it just so happens this particular dollar bill has been traveling for 56 days from New Jersey. I imagine it’s exchanged many hands since then but that no one bothered to enter it.
Until now.
I actually decided to enter all my bills in my wallet, just to see where they might end up. Those that didn’t have the URL on it, I added it with green pen. It’s a neat idea, interesting to see where these things will end up.

A small update
June 16th 2006
I got my first paycheck yesterday. Wow! I could get used to this twice a month payment deal if I keep seeing numbers like that.
The new job is going well, I’m feeling more comfortable around my co-workers and getting my work done on time. It gets repetative sometimes, but I am learning a lot, which is what I wanted.
What’s amusing is I’ve received two inquiries on resumes I sent out a month or more ago asking if I was still interested and wanting to set up interviews. I wouldn’t give up the job I have now for anything, I love it here. And the more I learn, the more I want to redesign my existing sites with new implementations.
I had decent conversations with both the Senior Druid and Chief Liturgist at the Grove the other day. I expect a lot of changes in the upcoming weeks at the Grove. The majority of the Witan seems in agreement with it, though the membership may or may not agree.
I’m actually working on a surprise for the Grove which I should reveal sometime in July, hopefully. Simple but useful.
Not much else is going on with me at this point. I work during the day, and come home and work on personal projects. Though I am going to start treating myself to some personal time starting this weekend.

Friday = Beer Day!
June 9th 2006
So I guess I overreacted about the javascript issue at work, since they haven’t asked me about it. Instead I had one boss say that I was doing a great job, and the other said that all of my code was very clean.
Have I mentioned that Friday’s are beer days at work? And they provide lots of candy?
I’ve been given a -lot- of different projects, which makes me feel good because it means they trust me to do the work. I’ve also been bought lunch almost every other day (they tend to do this a lot), and I’ve been asked to sit in on a conference call on Monday.
I stopped by Terminix after work today to pick up my last paycheck. Was nice to see some people again, I actually miss my technicians. They apparently aren’t adjusting to the new girl that replaced me. So much that they’ve put staples in her chair, taped up her keyboard, unplugged everything from her computer, hidden her pictures, turned her bulletins upside down, changed the dates on her calendar, etc.
I boggle at myself when I think that there are some things I miss about the job. And then I think about how wonderful my new job is, and I’m very grateful to have both opportunities.
