If Explorer.exe Crashes..
So this has happened to me on occasion, all of a sudden my explorer.exe file crashes. I’ve been told it has something to do with photoshop being set as the default viewer for .jpg and .gif files, but I don’t know the validity of that.
Regardless, should your explorer.exe crash for any reason, removing your task bar, system tray, etc, you can bring it back up by typing: Control-Alt-Delete, which will bring up your task manager. Go to File, New Task, and enter explorer.exe.
Another random tip:
If you are having browser problems (and we all do), you can still browse websites with a hidden browser in Windows XP.
Open your Windows calculator program (programs/accessories)
Open the Help file (help/help topics)
In the top left corner, click on the yellow question mark icon where it says “Calculator”.
Select “jump to url.”
Enter the url of the site you want to browse. (You must use http:// in the address)
