That little grass hill

July 16th 2006

I went to the drumming circle last night up in PA. But boy was it fuckin hot out. My friend Mark and I attempted a game of pingpong in the coffee nook but ended up sweating our balls (figuratively speaking) off. It was just too hot to do much of anything.

Once the sun set we trekked up to the mid-meadow near the fire and drummed for a few hours. I didn’t really get a chance to play much guitar, which was fine. I wasn’t really feeling the energy last night anyway. I mostly just enjoyed hanging out with Mark, even if he started talking more nonsense the more he drank.

I made the mistake of taking my mustang up there, instead of the bronco like I’m used to. I actually got stuck on a little grass hill. What the fuck is up with that. How can people live with driving only cars? I don’t think I could ever live without owning some big truck with 4-wheel drive. It just doesn’t seem sane. Ah well, I’ll have both broncos fixed over the next 3 weeks, and I’m still considering trading the mustang in for some sort of small SUV with good gas mileage, but I’m not in a rush to do so.

Getting Used to the New Homestead

Dad’s sugar was really low (34) on Sunday from all of the moving. Fortunately I had 2 beat-up jolly ranchers in my purse for just such an occasion. I’ve bought him some organic hard candy to keep in the house while I’m not there.
I’ve noticed I’m more disoriented in the mornings now because […]
