Before and After

July 30th 2006

My cousin Bryan, who is an electrician, offered to replace our electrical equipment since it was completely worn down and out of date. Electrical issues are always a big fear of mine in this old house (considering one of our old farm houses burnt down when I was 2 from faulty wiring), so I was excited enough to take before and after pictures. My father and I now have new plugs in the kitchen, living room, and my bedroom for all my computer crap. We no longer have to unplug the fridge in order to use the microwave, and we no longer have to turn off the air conditioning in order to do laundry.

This is good stuff.

The wires alone would have cost $200 if my cousin wasn’t working for an electrical company. Not to mention the size and expense of buying a big breaker box like that, plus the labor. It was sweaty as balls out, and I made chicken and dumplings to feed everyone. But I am glad it’s finally done.

I also took some random flower pictures today, they didn’t turn out as well as the morning glories though.

My doctor told my dad today that the diabetes medicine he’s been taking is ruining his kidneys. So he’s to stop taking it immediately and they will be prescribing him something different. Nice of us to find this out now. I figure I better start preparing myself financially if it comes to […]
