Order of Money
Apparently my co-workers think I’m poor, as they’re always trying to buy me lunch. Though I guess technically I am, I’m not -that- poor. I think they get this impression from me never eating lunch and wearing ratty clothes to work.
It more has to do with the order of importance I have for things to spend money one. Which my friend Paul makes fun of me for because food tends to be on the very bottom of that list.
So what do I consider the most important monetary things in my life?
1. Dad - Always #1 priority. If my sister wasn’t in as stable an environment as she is, she would be up here too. I always make sure my dad has the proper medications and money he needs for whatever he wants.
2. Bills - All the usual bills need to be taken care of to keep my credit up, make sure we have everything we need, insurances are paid, 401k’s, etc.
3. Vehicles - Gotta have a way to get to work so I can pay the bills.
4. Food
5. Personal Items - Clothes, make-up etc.
So yes, apparently food and clothes are on the bottom of my list. I try to scrimp as much as I can and live below my means, but medical issues with my father do pop up now and again and I just can’t save as much as I’d like.

That list makes alot of sense. To me at least. There’d be no money for food if everything else wasn’t taken care of first.

We spend waaayy to much money on food. I don’t know why. I am trying to curb it, really I am! Bills come first for us, too, then gas, vehicle maintenence, food, everything else…. i try to buy one new (walmart quality) shirt a month. I am really really low on clothes and tend to wear them until they fall off!
