The Druid Podcast

September 29th 2006

I’m thinking about writing up my issues with this, but until then a synopsis.

Druids have Equinox Ritual. (I happen to be a member of this organization)

Christians go “undercover” and record the ritual without the Druids knowledge or consent. These include Kirk Cameron from “Growing Pains.”

Christians put recording up on website as a podcast, being blatantly ignorant and full of bigotry.

A disrespect to those poor folks out at Ravens Cry Grove, ADF.

[…] This particular question comes from a recent development in the organization my Druid Church is a member of. You can read the brief details HERE. […]

I have two things to say- Kirky *lied* to the fellow when he pointed out he was being recorded and is proud that he made it through “by the skin of his teeth”. But I’m sure it’s ok for him to do so because he was ridiculing another religion and breaking the law. It was for a *choke* godly purpose.

And: Pot, I believe you and Mister Kettle know each other?

    That’s sick.

Just the idea- cruel. Now I have listened and they called it self rightous! yeah! wow.

he sounded just like saint john, my ex stepdad, and it made me ill, but i kept listening. thank you kirk for reaffirming that i am on the right path. i am ashamed to have once called myself christian. they kept going on about “beliefs.” they must really fear us.

This is ridiculous. Who do these people think they are, slandering other religions like this.

  6. Dizzy Says:

….cont. I myself, being Pagan, find this crap to be disguisting. Christians, I’m sick of them, (not all) but the ones who think they are the shit, and think they can intrude on people and bash them, and think they are right, and make fun of anything that isn’t in tune with them. Well I’ll say this, I’m Pagan, and yeah, I believe what I want, as alot of other people believe what I do, and I perform ritual, and yeah, I’m a witch, so those people, that MAN who went off and thought himself to be “godly” enough to do what he did, can shove his recording, and his thoughts and opinions, up his ass.

  7. Crys Says:

A lot of pagans are angry at the deceitful demeanor behind the recording. I myself was very angry and was going to post a rant about it, but decided against it. It does no one any good. If anything the podcast showed the intolerance of funadmental religious practitioners, and exposed Paganism as a welcoming folk religion that will not be going away anytime soon. I’ve seen a lot of people band together because of this, so I think the effect they were going for is actually the opposite of what happened :)
