Meet my mother, the psychopath

September 21st 2006

As I mentioned before, my mother has some issues, and is threatening me for putting “I no longer speak to my mother” in my Myspace profile. If I didn’t remove, there would be some sort of consequences.

Well here’s a glimpse of the start of my new drama. I have full screenshots available, but these were the most amusing for posting purposes:

Good Things

September 21st 2006

To try and move thing over to a lighter note, some good things from today so far:

- The first batch of fresh homemade apple cider from Baughers country restaurant.
- Being brought breakfast in my room by my dad, homemade waffles with butter and king syrup
- Warm fuzzy slippers and just enough chill in the air to make them really appreciated
- Listening to my dad talking to my dog, and making an extra waffle just for him (he makes my dog his own little breakfast every morning, eggs, bacon etc)
- The feeling of brand new socks

So I thought this was amusing

September 20th 2006

I’ve received several emails from my mother since Saturday when this Myspace issue went down with my sister. That last one being the most amusing. She is apparently threatening to take me to court for “slander” because on my Myspace profile it states “I am no longer speaking to my mother.” I don’t mention names, and as far as I know, it’s not illegal to hate your mother, but WHATEVER.

The emails below for my amusement (I saved screenshots also)

Chill

September 14th 2006

There’s something to be said for a nice hot shower with the window open, listening to the rain outside and feeling the chill in the air. I don’t know what it is about fall that makes me (and many others) so excited, but I love it.

Bow season starts tomorrow. My uncle keeps forgetting to bring mine over, and I’d prefer to practice with it some before I take it hunting with me. So this season I will probably stick with the antique 12-gauge shotgun of my grandfathers. I’m not sure when rifle season starts this year yet.

My cherokee classes are going well. The first two were just going over syllabry and proper pronunciation though, which I already knew. I’m anxious for next weeks class because we’ll start getting into the meat of the language. My dad and Mr. Right have been quizzing me, and both seem to take an interest in the language so they are speaking it with me too. Even a co-worker wants me to teach him some words, which will probably help me out as well.

Some interesting things I’ve learned so far about the cherokee language, if you were to say “Yes” it would sound like “Uh uh,” which is “No” in english. Which has to be confusing for any households that speak english and cherokee.

Some basics, since I know Sarah was interested:
osiyo (oh see yo) = Hello
wado (wah doe) = Thanks
osda (oh stah) = Good
dohitsu (doe he chew) = How are you?

Granted those are the phonetic spellings of the words, the actual cherokee language I’d probably have to make images of, since the lettering is quite different :)

I called the electric company (Med Ed) and have scheduled service to start up on October 1st. There is a $12 connection charge for this. I’m curious to see how expensive electricity is in PA. I really wish I could have gotten the co-op company, but they service on the other side […]
