20th Anniversary of Nintendo
According to this article, today is the 20th Anniversary of the original Nintendo Entertainment System released in the United States. And boy what a ride it’s been.
I was an Atari addict at a young age, Space Invaders, Pitfall, I even had the E.T. game for Atari 2600. But when Nintendo came out, I was 6, and lucky enough to be the first in the family to have one. My cousin Jon and I would play religiously, especially Street Fighter II, where he’d always kick my ass.
However, the all-time best game on any Nintendo platform is Zelda. It doesn’t matter what version, NES, SNES, N64, I played and loved them all. I think to celebrate, I might break out the NES and Zelda later tonight.

I would have to disagree with you on the Zelda bit. While I’m not saying it’s not a good game (Which it is, I enjoyed them all up to the N64), I don’t think it was the best. My favorite was tied between several titles: The Contra Series (Contra and Super C), Gauntlet 2, and Metroid.
I still have two working NES decks, and now I have to see if I can find the hook-up cables in storage.
