Frustrated

November 1st 2006

I’m overwhelmed with unfinished energy right now, and it’s really dragging me down.

I somehow got volunteered to work on another interfaith groups website, at no charge. No one spoke to me about it, no one even asked me if I had time. The guy just came up to me with his FTP information and a list of things he wanted me to do since he was told I was the “web goddess” and could/would do it.

I’ve been busy, and though I’ve gotten a good portion of his site done, I’m apparently not working fast enough, and he’s making sure I know it.

Another friend of mine wants me to make a website for his WoW guild, which I’ve started, but he pesters me everyday about getting it done ASAP.

I want to update the Grove website, but the other two seem more pertinent.

I want to put a new layout up on my journal, but that’s so far on the backburner right now.

I had to find templates for my dedicants journal, mudblog site, and personal spirituality site because I knew I wouldn’t have time to make my own.

I’ve been trying to work on my dedicants program, but can get a few articles written here and there at work, or I wouldn’t have time.

Don’t even ask about practicing guitar. I haven’t.

I’ve been forgetting about my Cherokee classes, and trying to catch up is NOT easy.

I have a list of no less than 30 things I want to get completed, and never can. Stuff like, grinding the rust spots and priming my bronco. Scanning all my paper pictures into digital format for backups. Organize all the old Witan notes that Sati had taken and archive them. Read a fucking book. Clean out the garage and the basement and throw out my ex-husbands crap.

I need to work on some time management, and I REALLY need to get some projects out of the way and stop accepting new ones.

Wow, I would feel frustrated too. it seems you are being taken advantage of. People wouldn’t (shouldn’t) ask for a free haircut or a free oil change from friends or acquaintances, and they shouldn’t ask for free website stuff, either!

I just prioritize my work, and I let people know about it. I told a client I wouldn’t start her site until I finished my friends that I volunteered for. I started hers first, so I finished hers first. She understood. I have more time than you (supposedly, lol) and there is no way I could keep up with you. We all have our limits though!

I hope you can get time for yourself squeezed in there! Remember, time is an illusion…

    10 Sustainable Food Resources

The Diet Blog recently posted a list of 10 Sustainable Food Resources to help folks who find it difficult to find locally grown produce. I’m a big supporter of local farmers and locally grown produce, especially those that do not use pesticides and antibiotics. My father and I eat our own veggies, and […]
