Camping

November 2nd 2006

I’m supposed to go camping this weekend with some family from my moms side. My sister is going, her father is going, our cousin is going, etc. I was hoping to have a nice camping weekend, being outside, sleeping in a tent, eating campfire food, maybe doing some hiking.

I was even trying to think of some things I could do with the pre-teens, like fun nature activities or something.

I’ve gotten an email from one aunt that says they are planning on going out for breakfast Saturday morning (out for breakfast? While camping?) and just received an email from another aunt that says the “campground” is having a “best decorated halloween campsite” and that there will be trick-or-treaters.

I don’t know, but to me this doesn’t really sound like a camping trip. They all use campers anyway, but going out to eat at a restaurant and decorating the campsite just isn’t really my idea of fun.

I suppose it’s too late to back out now.

I agree with you- camping is supposed to be about getting dirty, freezing your but off in a tent, and eating hot dogs for breakfast!

Maybe plan some fun activities anyway. The kids might like it!
