Life Insurance

January 4th 2007

So I came to terms a long time ago that I would always be financially supporting my father. He has no pension, no retirement, he has nothing but what disability gives him, which isn’t enough to cover his monthly bills and medication (hence why I help out).

When I quit Terminix, I no longer had life insurance, and I’m looking into getting a new plan. I want something affordable, but with high coverage, because once I’m gone, my dad has no one else to support him. So I’m looking at at least 100k worth of coverage, enough to allow him to continue to live properly should something happen to me. And of course have my sister as a secondary beneficiary.

I don’t know much about the big-wig companies out there, and I’ve never had to get life insurance outside of what an employment provided. I’m hoping someone will have better knowledge on the subject than me and can help provide some input :)
