Crafty Witches

October 3rd 2007

I know people don’t like the “Witch” word. Get over it.

This weekend I spent catching up on projects. Working on Ecumenicon’s website, updating ADF’s website, scanning old pictures and ripping them out of duct-taped photo books that were from the 70’s. Incidentally, never take pictures of your children’s birthday cakes. I look back at mine and they not only mean nothing to me, I have no clue what year the birthday cake was from. I could care less.

Also whoever invented the photo albums with the sticky backs that you layer under a piece of plastic that sticks to the sticky backs has made most of our old photos curl up as I attempted to rip them off.

Welsh Wheat House BlessingSunday I spent at the Grove, participating in a Wheat Weaving Workshop, also discovering that Wheat is a pain in the butt because the ends break off and stick to you and your clothing. But alas, I made a nifty little home blessing thing. Apparently it is Welsh, but I forget the name. It was something like M….ford. (help?)

I have also started Holiday shopping, and once I figure out what to get my sister and such, should be done fairly soon. I’ve decided everything will be wrapped in newspaper because 1. I’m cheap and 2. I love to recycle.

Acorn Battlefield

October 1st 2007

The weather is so dry lately, it has created a warzone at my house. It’s so dry that the acorns are falling like mad, sometimes bombarding our roof, tin sheds, and wooden deck with what sounds like a basket of rocks thrown from the sky.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen the acorns fall this way in all my years of existence. It creates a pretty blanket of acorns, but they can be harsh to walk on and obviously obnoxious and even damaging.

Old Traditions

I was sitting with Will and Caryn at their camp last night before the drumming circle, and we got to talkin about wedding rings. I had mentioned that I still had my engagement ring, wedding ring, and Alex gave me back the wedding ring that I gave him, because both of the wedding rings […]
