Bullet List of Recent Activity

February 10th 2008

Since there’s been nothing lately that requires a big long entry.

  • I’ve forgotten how nice it is not to live out of a dresser. To have this beautiful antique armoir given to me by a friend, to have wooden hangers and buy cheap chic baskets for the bottom for socks and things. It makes me feel very fancy yet antique.
  • I wasn’t feeling well Thursday so I worked from home. Ironically it was the busiest day at work, ever, and everyone wanted all this stuff done ASAP and I’m like “Whoa whoa, sick here.” I eventually just shut everything down and went and pampered myself with a long lavender bath, japanese clay face mask, and other girlie things that I do maybe once a year.
  • My sweetheart just got a huge promotion at work as VP and our combined salaries would now be over 100k/year. Unfortunately neither of us can enjoy the spoils of that arrangement for a while, so my dad and I are still living off my own salary. Still, it’s a nice future thought, and he’s going to be sending me the excess money to keep in my savings.
  • Was involved in some good drumming this weekend
  • I’ve started paying an extra $80/month towards my car loan in order to work towards getting it paid off two years early.
  • No idea what my tax return is going to be yet, but I’ve decided to put a small amount towards going over the next “grand” hump in my savings and then putting the rest into the balance on my mustang. As much as I’d like to buy myself something, I don’t need anything that bad to warrant purchasing over reducing the size of my debt.
  • My best friend and I are having a henna date the beginning of March where we henna our hair and then we’re going to go out to the Common Market and buy all kinds of organic groceries (while staying within my $200/month grocery budget for me and my dad)
  • I found some cheap coin wrappers on ebay and decided to wrap up all of our loose change today with the purpose of giving it to my father to buy the remaining parts for his tractor. My grand total was $176.31, and I’m sure there is loose change still around the house to start our next coin stash. It just shows that every penny counts and adds up. From eating out often to just emptying your change into a jar everyday. You heard about the guy that paid for a brand new truck in cash that he got from just change he saved up over 13 years, right? Twice. I could very well just put this money into savings, and I was tempted. But the tractor brings in money with plowing gardens in the spring and plowing snow in the winter. Plus I’ve been eating so much better lately, I really want to take advantage of our vegetable garden this year.
  • Thinking about selling my electric guitar. Actually I’m pretty set on it. It was bought for me for Christmas by my grandmother when I was 15 (1995) because I was heavy into metal music. I’ve played it about…5 times total, because I love playing the acoustic guitar so much more. If I ever did need an electric, it would be an electric acoustic only. My grandmother paid about $295 I think for the guitar and amp, so I’m trying to figure out how much to ask for it. It’s a black Fender Squire (yes, not a Strat), and is in mint condition (listed now for about $299 brand new). It needs a new case though because the one I have I painted metal bands on in highschool :D. This money will probably go in emergency savings, and free up some space in my room. Maybe I’ll try selling it in the paper.
  • I earned $10.32 in royalties from sales on Zazzle from my MUD. In addition, the Grove earned about the same amount in sales from Zazzle.
  • I made two bumperstickers, one for my mustang and one for my bronco. I was actually told I wasn’t allowed to purchase them without getting permission directly from Ford Motor Company. I guess they thought I wasn’t going to try and do it, but damned if I didn’t. Only for personal use, but I got permission directly from Ford itself.
