Dads Prescription Glasses

March 1st 2008

So I got the prescription from the eye doctor, but they did not include the Pupil Distance, so I had to measure that myself (after much google searching to make sure I would be doing it correctly).

I have now ordered my dad his very first pair of prescription eyeglasses via the internet. The quote the doctor gave him for his glasses was $250. Where I ordered them online cost $84 (and these are progressive with photochromic lenses) with the titanium memory frame. I’ve learned more than I ever wanted to know about glasses this week.

We will see if they will actually be accurate. If so, I will have saved my dad a generous sum of money. Which we can use to buy him a spring-hinge pair as well later on, and STILL be under the original quoted cost.

They should be here in 2-3 weeks. I’ll let you know how they turn out with a link to the website for those interested :)
