Baltimore Herb Festival 2008

May 24th 2008

This year was my first time at the Baltimore Herb Festival. I wanted to go to replenish my diminished herbal supply and see what kinds of goodies they had. I had an idea in mind of what types of things I wanted, some tobacco, patchouli, rosemary, dill, etc. I found everything I wanted except for blueberry plants. They had red raspberry, but I already have plenty of those.

I also ran across the vendor Willow Pond Herbs which had a station for trying some of their honey’s and dipping sauces. Oh my gracious were they delicious. I bought a small bottle of sage honey, and 4 packets of their dipping herbs because they were just so f’n amazing. The mexican fiesta one was to die for. I plan to be a regular customer with them from now on. I also got some dipping herbs from The Cottage of Herbs, but I don’t see a website for them.

I also got a small jar of homemade apple butter and a small bottle of sparkling apple cider from the Le Mousseux vendor.

They had some vendors there selling smudging feathers fixated to driftwood, and very nicely polished walking sticks wrapped with what looked like suede, and lamb skin. There was also a vendor that sold gourds decorated with buckskin and antlers, and several vendors selling soaps and lotions and things. I didn’t get any of that stuff though.

But the BEST part was the lady with the Owl and the Red-Tailed Hawk! I think she was a predatory bird rescue taking donations for the rescue. I wanted to stay and admire the hawk more since it’s my most sacred animal, but the sun was making me so tired.

Definitely want to go again next year, but I’m bringing a hat and some water :P Tempted to see if they’re looking for performers cause they had two different bands playing.

It was really cool seeing so many different generations at the festival. There were lots of old people, but there were also a lot of people like me in their 20’s, and it was like this was a place where such a generation gap could come together.

Hello there! I attempted to contact girl@acoustic-dream.com about the Johnny Cash Fanlisting but the email bounced. Please contact me, I was wondering if the Johnny Cash FL would like to affiliate with my Johnny Cash American Albums Series FL(s). Thanks!

Why I love the English

Besides the adorable words like “Dodgy”, “Posh” and “Bloody Hell”, I’ve recently found other reasons to love the English.
On cable in the states, we have this channel called BBC America. I don’t ever watch it, but I was flipping through channels on a lazy Saturday noon the other day, and ran across How Clean […]
