What the hell, people

July 26th 2008

Stop coming over to talk to us about how it sucks that we’re leaving, thus taking an hour out of our day each time that we could be using to pack.

Last night you took 2 hours! Today you’re already taking an hour! Shut up and help pack if you’re insisting on coming over, but the more you keep coming over to chit chat the less work we get done to get out of here on time.

The Deer Head

July 25th 2008

On the way home from house viewing and visiting my Aunts for dinner, I was driving home in the dark and I went up over the hill and this DEER HEAD was in the road. The damn thing had been decapitated (I never did see its body) and there was grossness sprawled out all over the road with this head that looks like it was detached just above the shoulders.

Naturally cause it was RIGHT over the hill (perfect place to hit a deer) I ran over the damn thing *thump THUMP*. I imagine there’s a nice coating of deer guts under my mustang.

I spoke with my realtor today, and he said he spoke with the realtor of the house we liked, and she’s not sure the woman will go below 170k. I’m going to meet with my realtor on Mon or Tues and we’ll put our official offer down on paper. I don’t know if they list the things wrong with the house in those or not so she understand why we’re offering that much. But I’m REALLY hoping that she’ll seriously consider the offer because I’m positively in love with the house.

I will have to light candles.

Well, We Found One

July 24th 2008

That we liked anyway..

The people will have to come down on the price a bit, but we found one we like. The acreage is smaller, but it’s right up against a large state park, and there’s a fire trail right next door.

4 bedrooms, 1 bath, a beautiful screened in porch on the second floor, tons of room for us inside and enough land for us to have a garden and a few small critters. I’m amazed at the size of this house and the price, compared to this POS we’re living in now and the price they wanted for it. They must be out of their flipping minds here in Maryland.

Apparently there is a new program in PA for first time home buyers that somehow works it so the first year of the mortgage is actually less than the mortgage, the second year is a little more, and the third year you start paying your regular mortgage price. So I’m going to check that out as well.

The drive to work would be about the same, but the drive to the Grove is going to be significantly longer. Them’s the breaks I guess, I’ll just have to drive it (and may not be down -every- weekend, we’ll see).

Right now it’s up to whether the people will accept our offer, then we’ll take one step at a time.

The second house we looked at was nice. 2 bedrooms, 1 small bath, beautiful living room and nice kitchen. The property was wooded and fairly private, but you could see neighbors. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that it was public water and the bedrooms are small.

However my cousin Stephanie is moving back from Georgia soon and will be looking for a house to buy. I think this one would be good for her, and she could get a VA loan instead of an FHA, so more things might slide.

Good vibes on helping us negotiate with the seller are much appreciated :)

Here we go again

July 22nd 2008

Dad has an ulcer on his leg again. No doubt from all the physical labor of having to rush around and move a farm in 30 days due to these bastards. After all that time and money spent in the hyperbaric chamber to get him fully healed, we have to start all over again.

I’m heartbroken. I’ll pay whatever it takes.

I’m going to buy him some new circulation socks, even though he says he’s not going to worry about it until after the move. I mentioned that maybe we should start the hyperbaric treatments again, but he said there’s no point until after we move.

The neighbors want to throw us a going away cookout on Saturday. I don’t think we’ll be able to go, simply because we want to be out of here soon.

Suffering the Consequences

I think I’m starting to suffer the consequences of having friends know about my journal. It’s the same as before, I feel like I can’t vent about what I want because someone might get offended. When will I ever learn. Or. When will I stop caring?
There have been a few decisions […]
