House Pictures

August 20th 2008

I snagged the pictures from the real estate listing (so obviously I didn’t take these). They are good “before” shots, though I will be taking some of those myself as well.

Enjoy!

Very last picture taken at our old house

August 10th 2008

And a few I’ve taken at my Aunts since coming here:

Red Horizon

Pink Horizon. The sun comes up over this big meadow that my other uncle owns from down the street. My Aunt has a circular stone patio out there that I sit at and meditate as the sun comes up. It’s very invigorating.

Big rainbow we saw this past weekend.

Dads first Halloween Decorations

October 7th 2007

We’ve always decorated for Autumn. In fact, our house is always decorated seasonally, intentionally or not. Right now we have acorns everywhere, spiderwebs all along the front porch, leaves turning beautiful colors. We also add indian corn, bundles of corn stalks on each side of the front door, pumpkins and gourds, etc.

And despite my dads usual Christmas/Yule display, he’s never had the money to do a Halloween display.

So I decided to start one up this year. It’s just a small styrofoam graveyard type thing, but it’s a start, and we can add something new every year.

Still I think it looks neat, and decided to take some pictures last night (even saved one of them to my desktop):

View the gallery.

I think the red light hanging from the tree over the graveyard is a nice touch.

Acorn Battlefield

October 1st 2007

The weather is so dry lately, it has created a warzone at my house. It’s so dry that the acorns are falling like mad, sometimes bombarding our roof, tin sheds, and wooden deck with what sounds like a basket of rocks thrown from the sky.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen the acorns fall this way in all my years of existence. It creates a pretty blanket of acorns, but they can be harsh to walk on and obviously obnoxious and even damaging.

This morning

August 18th 2007

1 and 2.

Today is awesomely gorgeous (why couldn’t it have been this temperature yesterday?). I was actually chilly this morning when I woke up. But it’s such a blessed thing.

A glimpse of Autumn, hurrah.
