Rachel Brice Desktops

June 20th 2006

I made some fairly simple Rachel Brice desktops today. She’s just such a beautiful dancer and I admire her. All are in 1024×768 format, so if you need a different one, just let me know.

New Renter: The Vegan Diet

May 8th 2006

I forgot to do a promotional post for my current tenant: The Vegan Diet. Now, I’m not vegan, but I am trying to work towards a more organic diet, even with meat. So far I’ve found the site extremely useful and educational, and look forward to keeping regular track of the ideas and information posted here. So go check it out :)

Securing Wordpress

March 19th 2006

On a separate site, not this one, I’ve been having some problems with worms getting into my files. I don’t have this problem on my journal and I use wordpress, and I checked all my permissions on the files and have all the folders CHMOD to 755 and all the files CHMOD to 644. I don’t know why I’m still having problems with worms though.

Has anyone else experienced this?

This may bide up most of my time today, blar.

Another Tenant

February 4th 2006

Divine Calm is the new tenant this week. I am still reading through her archives, as there doesn’t appear to be a bio of sorts, but I can tell you anyone who loves “Little House on the Prairie” and seems to have grown up country like myself, is a 10 in my books. Not to mention two very adorable dogs, and a long distance relationship just like myself. A unique find, that I believe will be added to my list of daily reads. So go visit!

On the same note, I bid to be placed on Lady Meatball and she accepted. And boy did she write a nice excerpt about me. I actually blushed.

New Tenant

January 20th 2006

I have a new tenant this week, known as Mystickal Incense, which is a personal and business blog of Stephanie, who handmakes all types of incense and such. Feel free to give her lots of attention while I attempt to give her some traffic.

I’m actually kinda excited that she bid to be placed here, since she has pagan roots just like me.

Blogexplosion

January 12th 2006

I’ve decided to participate in this Blogexplosion stuff. I rent some space on my blog once a week to a fellow blogger, in return I get to have my site advertised on someones site for a week as well. It’s a nice free little setup, and apparently brings you a lot of traffic.

Though it took me a bit to figure out how the site works. I’ve actually looked through a lot of other peoples journals and found some really interesting ones that I will go over and link later.

In the mean time…, a gentleman named John over at The Church of Dysfunction is my new tenant here. He’s apparently an ordained minister from Kentucky (which amused me to say the least that he bid to be placed here), and also works as Helpdesk Coordinator for an IT services company (you poor thing). He seems to abhor stupid people as much as I do. So please show him some attention by visiting his site. It helps me out too.

In other news, I’ve been pondering doing that whole Google ad thing, and using the money towards my Dads medical bills, but does it really make much money? I never really wanted to put advertisements on my site, for the sake of this being -my- journal, and -my- space to look how -I- want. But perhaps there is something to be said for the lovely world of TEH INTERWEB and its potential.

Something to think about at least. There’s a lot of ways to earn money just for having a site. Perhaps I shall research.

Comments

January 11th 2006

So, after my Delurking post, someone mentioned on a friend of mines journal, that they weren’t able to comment. I’m not entirely sure why, since other people have, but it could be a Wordpress error for all I know.

I had blocked it so you had to be logged in before you could comment, but now I have it open for everyone. If it starts to spam me with advertisement, I may just have to require logging in again, we’ll see.

But there you have it :)

Delurking Week

January 11th 2006

I wasn’t going to post this, but a girl is entitled to change her mind, right?

It is National Delurking Week. What does this mean for you? It means, if you’re reading this, you need to shift your eyes downwards slightly where it says “No comments” (cause it always says no comments), and post one. Show me love, show me……that you appreciate the time and effort that I put into this site.

Or…….at least relieve some of the bordom which brought you to my site in the first place, and leave a comment.

First 100 commenters receive a special gift! I don’t know what that is yet….perhaps you should leave a comment with suggestions!

Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks

So I took it upon myself to start tracking my dads bank account. I’ve inputted all of his transactions into Microsoft Money, and check it weekly to update it with what transactions he’s done. I’ll probably do this for a month or two and then print out some reports of his expenditures to […]
